Where is Maven Central Repository?

By default, Maven will get project dependencies from Maven Local Repository, if it is not found, Maven will get it from the Maven Central Repository

  1. Maven Central Repository URL – https://repo.maven.apache.org/maven2
  2. Maven Central Repository Search – https://search.maven.org/

This is how the Maven central repository search website looks like :

Browsing for this directory has been disabled.

View this directory’s contents on http://search.maven.org instead.

Find out more about The Central Repository.

The maven center repository website is revamped, directory browsing is no longer available. Instead, you will be redirected to http://search.maven.org/. It’s much better, now you have a search function 🙂

While Maven Central does its best to prevent you from getting information about the packages (e.g. blocking browsing, providing no useful information about packages, etc), you can use Bintray’s JCenter as your Maven repository.

Not only Bintray’s JCenter allows directory browsing at all levels, it also has a
larger collection of artifacts and better search functionality anyway
(for example, module descriptions are also indexed and search indexes
are updated immediately).
